Solera Reserva

Origin

Gran Castillo” Brandy de Jerez Reserva it is brandy obtained from wine spirit that has been subjected to a system of aging in American oak casks following the traditional Solera and Criaderas system to the required minimum average age for a Brandy de Jerez Reserva (Aged on average for 1 year and having a total content of volatile components of 200 mg. per 100cc of pure alcohol ).

Description

There are three stages:
1. Elaboration (“Cabeceos”): It consists of the blending and homogenizing of the components with gross adjustments to the final specifications.
2. The ageing in oak casks with an individual capacity of some 500 to 600 litters according to the Sherry method of “criadera” and “solera” so that partial extractions from the “solera” Brandy Solera Reserva are taken to bottle, renewing this brandy with the upper in the scale cask or “criadera”, as specified before, in the phase called elaboration or cabeceo.
3. Industrial, consisting in adjusting the Brandy Reserva, partially extracted from the “solera”, and filtered to make it suitable to bottle and pack for expedition.

Tasting notes

Colour: Bright. Brown with darker tones.
Aroma: “Estery” nose that evokes the fine distilled wines it is made from. Hint of oak. Aroma softened, with hints of coffee
Taste: Fleshy and softened.

Ready for consumption. Neat or with ice or as a mixer with soft drinks.
